Layth AlRawi is an innovator in Oil & Gas digital solutions. Outside the work, Layth is a researcher specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and human factors. With over 14 years in the oil and gas industry, he has held key roles at Weatherford, Nabors Industries, and Parker Wellbore. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Çankaya University, focusing on human factors in energy systems. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at Klagenfurt University, researching interaction design for augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) settings.
My research interests lie in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, with a focus on the design, evaluation, and optimization of pointing devices (e.g., mid-air gestures, hand gestures, controllers, hands-free techniques, eye gaze, and eye tracking) and haptic feedback systems for augmented and virtual reality applications. I investigate how human interaction with 3D virtual environments can be enhanced through precision, usability, and immersive feedback.
